Design Workshops is one of the premier makers of architectural millwork in Northern California, maintaining its manufacturing base in the San Francisco Bay Area. We take pride in having retained the intimacy of a family-business culture, focused on providing a great employee experience.

Design Workshops continues to rely on the time-tested woodworking traditions upon which the company was founded. We actively seek to pass this knowledge along to others, as it was passed down to us through the generations.

Design Workshops is a union company and is committed to the training and advancement of our employees. Nearly every member of our team has participated in our 4-year apprentice carpenter or cabinet maker program, run by the carpenter’s union. As a result, our clients receive a uniform level of service at every level of interaction with Design Workshops. But more importantly, this creates a talented workforce that will advance the principles of practical construction for years to come.
